It can be overwhelming when trying to coordinate outfits for a photoshoot. I like to first suggest people choose clothing items that they’re comfortable in, because comfortable clothing = relaxed and happy photos. Second, I’d say think about what you want the end result to look like, take into account the season, the location and your family’s personality and then proceed. And third, choose one item to start with (usually the mom since, let’s be honest, you are organizing the whole thing anyway so let’s make sure you love what you’re wearing). Below are some on trend and seasonal suggestions. I personally tend to be more casual in my clothing choices, so I included a lot of tops and jeans, however you can dress up the looks by choosing a dress or a skirt and build around that. Let’s take a look at some of the seasons colors.
Mustard has been a fall staple in the last couple years and this year is no different. It’s a fun pop of color that suggests sunshine and leaves. I chose to pair it with navy blue, a darker color that helps ground the bright yellow.

Red and navy is a classic combo, but switching out the red for maroon allows it to feel a little more autumn-like. There are so many clothing options in these colors, it’s really hard to go wrong. Choose one or two pieces of clothing to have a pattern and then level it out with solids or simple patterns on the rest of the items to create a calm and put together look.
Many may not think about leopard print for family photos, but for the daring and fun here is a playful combination that’s on trend for Fall 2019. If you like this idea but it’s still too much, you could use the camel, cream, and black colors with smaller hints of leopard print.

Now this one is my favorite. When I was creating it I thought of autumn leaves and wanted to incorporate burnt orange and mustard. The result, a bohemian fall look that would be perfect among the autumn colors of the PNW.
